You could go to the Name That Plant forum for identification of that seed head.

A 'foxtail' is just a spike of grass with seed heads. A common name. Depending on your location, any of a variety of grasses could be the culprit. Dog owners in places where dogs can run around in fields are all too familiar with the local grasses that are problematic. And we try to mow or graze our fields before the grasses form seedheads, generally a rearguard effort.

Well it is a grass spike but other than that I don't know. Call a local vet or ask local dog owners. And mow the field! :-)

Possibly Vulpia/Festuca myuros.

The Hordeum looks more like one of the H. murinum group rather than H. jubatum.
