Hello, sorry it took me so long to find this question. Yes I still have Chandler and yes they are still my favorite. I chopped down some large trees along the edge of my kitchen garden area and now that they have more sunshine they are really happy. To me, strawberries suffer the most in hot dry summers. If you can get them survive summer heat you can keep them for years and years. Tricks I do is to cover them with frost cloth to provide light shade or I will place large potted plants around them to give them some shade. They don't seem to like being kept wet when it is super hot so I go with shade instead.
