Aesthetically a TV console looks best when it is 25% wider than the TV. A 55" TV has a width of about 48" so console should be 60" wide

To make it simple and it would look great is have a full width console along the whole wall and that will accommodate any size TV .

I like Besta from Ikea for this it allows you to have any size TV gives you some storage and display and also puts the TV at the proper viewing height. I find almost all TV consoles are too high. The middle of the screen should be at eye level when you are seated.

Hang it on the wall. To avoid wires being visible, run power up the wall to behind the final location. Install mud ring to run COAX/HDMI or other AV cabling to whatever device you run the inputs from. Some cable boxes can be strapped to back of hanging bracket. Locate framing to install bracket.
