I have had that happen. I just chalked it up to a reaction to the minerals in my water.

That is unusual, but at least the pink color coordinated with the rest of your quilt. It's actually quite pretty. I love pinks/reds and brown together.

That must have been disheartening. But it does look like it was planned and the colors do work as Lois said. It does make you wonder what was in the fabric though.

Was the detergent the same the first time the fabric was washed? If it was something in the water, wouldn't it have changed color the first time? Same water source? Same detergent? Same machine? With this particular quilt, from what I can see, it isn't a problem as it looks great. But, it would make me wonder about using that fabric again.....

Thanks, Everyone. Here's another clue: I ran out of this fabric while making this quilt. Online, I found more at a shop in a small town in West Virginia (or was it North Carolina).

Anyway, all this fabric reacted the same way. That makes me suspect something about it made it like a dye catcher.

If you know the maker, contact them and see what they say.
