The outlet placement by the front door seems a little low for a down facing fixture, I would go with something that is flush mount or has the weight up top.

Now I would also consider, using the one you like by the front door and then using a warehouse-style on the garage. Why? The all-glass fixtures let a lot of light out, and therefore can be glaring to look at, using the Edison style bulb will not give you enough light, they are more decorative.
