presuming the pot is still there .. id be really impressed of it was eaten .. lol ..

and see if you gave anything in the media/soil.. a ride home ...

if you find some cutworm or some such.. take a pix ... and post it ...

presuming your garage is not bug ridden ... then i am thinking its in the pot ...

do you know of any rodent issues .. in case it wasnt a bug ... maybe something dragged it into a hidey hole ... insects can be voracious but im kinda with you on 12 hour to completely disappear ...

Maybe not eaten? Maybe bitten off and dragged away for nesting material? Rats?

I went to check for any holes in the garage or any residue of the plant and I did not find anything. This is the picture of the pot. The stalk was about 1/4 of an inch diameter.

I did find the pot scratched on one side from outside. I do not know about rodent issues in my house, I have not seen any thing.

if it were me.. i would bait a couple mouse traps with peanut butter.. and put them near the pot.. and see if you have activity ...

Ihave lost 8 tomato vines, one every few days. No trace of leaves or stems, only a small hole where the vine entered the ground. No trackes or evidence of what is happening to my vines.

I have no trace of rodents. Does any one have a sugestion. I put out rat bait but it did not get touched. Please help.

Buy a couple more of the same tomato plants, install a camera with night vision pointed at the plants and record away to catch the culprit.

Please post an update identifying the culprit. Extra points for a photo of it.
