You might check with a reputable custom blinds company in your area to see if they have a remote-controlled window covering you like. It's hard to reach across a sink and raise/lower a curtain like you would need throughout the day to offer shade when needed yet the view when it's not sunny. These can be hardwired or operated by battery.

Anyone have experience with Hunter Douglas ? There's so many different kinds of shades available through Hunter Douglas. It's a tad overwhelming to try to narrow it down I'm finding!

I don't know much about Hunter Douglas other that it is a huge company and very popular, but the Norman company is based in my area and does a lot of quality designs servicing the entire USA and probably Canada, as well. You'll need to work through a local dealer for most of these products. Ordering online is possible, but with such a special situation, it would be helpful to have an expert come measure your window and offer a return guarantee if it doesn't work out. I'm still in progress with my own project so cannot give specific brand recommendations at this time. If you're on a budget, Lowe's sometimes offers discount promotions on specific brands of remote-controlled window coverings.
