Do you have the open or the sealed burners? Is this a range(top) or a cooktop? That all makes a difference in how you would clean the appliance.

Most people in this forum have the open burners and either a range or range top. The cast iron parts with the exception of the burner heads can be removed and washed in the dishwasher, if you choose to do so.

Most of us will instead just wipe them down with a damp towel. The cast iron naturally develops a patina after a while that is easy to clean. It'll never look factory-new, unless you do some serious deep-cleaning. But it'll always look neat and clean after just seconds of wiping.
