Look for maple look VP

Just did the same search myself and had a hard time, especially since I didn't want a heavily beveled edge like so many products seem to have now. I also did't want trendy or beachy. Maple as Patricia suggested is virtually impossible to find; I know because I looked for it. Also, I wanted a top quality product which eliminated some possible choices for me that are low quality. I visited over a dozen stores looking for what I wanted.

If you like a beveled edge, take a look at Flooret Soho. As I recall, reviews said it shows a lot of dirt though. Should add in that we installed the original version of Flooret (a different pattern) in another house a few years ago. We were very happy with that product. We are going with Karndean Rigid Core French Oak which has a micro-bevel. It hasn't been installed yet, but I think it could meet your criteria. https://www.karndean.com/en/commercial-flooring/products/scb85-french-oak

We‘re looking at Coretec Canterbury Elm. It seems like it would check a lot of your boxes.

Provenza sweet talker,big sample and weshipfloors supercore oak natural, smaller samples. I thought I would love the Provenza and I do love the color but we have a lot of natural light and the texture on both products doesn't match the grain pattern...so back to the floor store I go.

I've tried liking Cortec but the finish is weird, almost waxy looking to me and I see a sparkle at the right angle. There are some very pretty light colors, though.

Flooret Modin also sparkles and it doesn't have as realistic grain matching as some other brands.

The floor struggle is real.

I was basically looking for something the same as you are looking for. I wanted at least 20 mil wear layer and EIR (embossed in register) and a fairly light color that wasn't too rustic or too trendy looking and I don't like the heavy painted bevels. I looked for a couple months and must have dragged home 30 or 40 samples. Some were the wrong color, some were way too fake and plasticky looking when the light hit them at a certain angle, some were sparkly etc. Finally, I realized I would need to compromise on something.

What I finally decided I would trade off was the EIR. I found a pattern where the texture doesn't exactly match the grain, but overall it has a very realistic look. It's going in within the week. We'll see how I feel about it after installation.

I feel like you get me. ha! What did you decide on?

Sorry... I saw your comment above. I just got done moving 4 yards of enriched soil into my raised beds... my brain isn't working. I haven't seen that sample yet. I'll have to go check it out.

Do you have any pics of the Soho? We’re debating between that or Lato. I prefer the Soho, but I think Lato works better with our kitchen cabinetry. I’m just afraid it will look to ‘white’ and cold.

For some reason it will not let me post multiple pictures in one post- but I sent a few. We love the Soho, the Lato was almost white/grey in our house due to the amount of light that we get.

Thanks for those pics. That looks great! I brought both Lato and Soho to our new construction along with cabinet samples. I love the advertising pics for Lato, but the lighting in our house gives it a different look.
I’d sure like to stick with Flooret. Perhaps I should pick a slightly different shade for the cabinets. I think the choice you see here goes well with Lato, but not as well with Soho.

We ended up installing Cortec and it was a great choice for us.

It’s a new one called Grande Makkah Oak. It was difficult choosing a flooring that worked with our cabinets. I looked at sooo many samples and ideas. But we love this and I feel it works well with the rift cut white oak. It’s modern, yet has some warmth to it.

@dcsam Looking good! You had me at "It’s modern, yet has some warmth to it." We are interested in the Grande also and brought home Petronas Oak. It is too gold in our home but I was worried about going too light. I am going to check out Makkah Oak. Did you have to cut bottoms of your doors? Is it floated? It is thick and soundproof so seems like a good upstairs option. Any info you can share would be awesome! Sounds like you did your research:)

I don’t know how I ended up with this gal’s contact info, but she was extremely helpful and sent out samples quickly. She sent planks too. Probably most helpful was when she sent 3 of the smaller samples of the Makkah. You get a feel for how it varies that way. And the plank helped too. She wasn’t selling the product - only works for the company in sending out samples and answering questions.

And yes... it is quite thick. If you look at my mish-mash of various samples, you’ll see the Makkah on top. You can see how thick it is. We haven’t installed doors yet, so don’t know if there’ll be issues.

The Makkah oak looks great in your picture, I’m wondering, because of its thickness does it feel more solid and quieter than other vinyl flooring? Did you install it or have a professional do it?

@dcsam do you still love your floors? We're looking at this too. Wondering how well it has stood up to scratches. We're not super careful sometimes about taking shoes off, and we have crazy dogs that chase each other :)

I'm looking for almost the exact same floors as what you were, and love the color of the Soho that you went with! The only thing I don't love about the Flooret flooring is how distinct the beveled edge is. From what I can tell by looking at pictures, it almost looks like a grout line in my opinion. Do you feel that way with them installed in your home? Does that bother you at all? I just can't tell because in some pictures the bevel seems to really stand out and others I can't hardly see it!

We love it too. It was difficult to find flooring that worked with our kitchen cabinetry (rift cut white oak). But this flooring works. It’s Makkah Oak.

We ordered our through BestLaminate. The rep (I’d have to find her info) was so, so helpful.

Generally speaking, LVP is a real victim of supply chain issues. I think it's pretty much across all brands. I ordered Coretec last March or April which was supposed to be here in early June. It kept getting pushed back, late June, July , and then finally in August we did get it and I am thrilled. I am just sharing that the availability is a real issue and people in a time crunch should be aware. It will come through but it may be delayed (and this seems to be all brands pretty much).

I think for Coretec there are some that they have in more plentiful supply and they have indicated that on their Facebook page.
