My temps are predicted to hit 32F. It is unlikely that I will get frost but my trees have fresh tender growth so in they come.

Bob I’m with you!!! I’m feeling the warm temperatures now with the sakura trees blooming and our huge magnolia :) not long now!

Jan, you have a nice hideout, lush vegetation. If you want to improve your fruit heaven, grow tree’s with dwarf rootstock. You can grow a lot of tree’s that only grows to say 6 or 8 feet tall. With a little pruning skills you can do that. One point of advise, I like no spraying chemicals type of fruit tree’s, just low maintenance, just pick and eat types.

Bob I agree with you! I never spray mine either! Although a couple years ago my plum got some disease looked like tumours growing everywhere! Well I threw wood chips on the soil and some manure and here we are two years later and it’s fruiting like crazy! :) bob I’ll look for some this spring I really have a tight space already but do have a couple more spaces to plant something dwarf I’m thinking persimmons. Michael, your trees are lovely! Wow I didn’t know that Belgium is much more warmer than in Canada. I mean I know that your winter is not as intense then in Canada but wow 29C already?

Happy Easter Jan and all of good will, and also mon ami, Amy! your figs should stay in 33* or higher, it will be soon enough. Jan if you want to grow apples or pear, with dwarfing Rootstock, you can keep them at 6 feet. Those big tree’s are old fashion. I just grafted some euro pears, all tops. It’s just so nice to have great sources. All the grafts are doing great.

Bob yes I think I too will top work some of my apple trees they’re about two stories high last year I opened my bedroom window On the upper floor stuck my hand out and picked an apple from the tree it was so tall! I guess it’s convenient but the apples weren’t great I just ended up baking with them. I have one Asian pear one Bosc pear and one yellow plum as well and god knows what kind of apple trees on the side of the property that is just huge! They are old school they were already here over a decade ago when we bought the house! I guess I better get to grafting and pruning :)

2 more days to summer, start getting my fishing gear ready, might not hear a squeaking noise anymore. Did all my work.

Not doing good here at all. I am glad to see you are all doing well)

The winds of 60 to 70 miles and hours tore up the only trees I had out outside and now I am looking at below freezing temps again this week and the next. It is just relentness cold between very warm and the virus thing has taken over my state! I have managed to stay away from it thus far except for a constant runny nose and slight cough from allergies, and trying to keep my mom safe.

So all this worry on top of the fact I can't put my trees out still, is almost wanting to make me cry. I lost two good friends of the family due to the virus. I am soooo depressed. I hope I can come out of this. It has been weeks and I am trying to accept what is.

Happy to see the beauty in all your pictures and Bob, I wish I could go fishing. Can't even do that here. They have closed all the lakes and parks and ocean fronts.

Mike, I'm so sorry to hear you are down. I can totally understand. Hang in there. Amy, that snow looks awful!! Mike, we had really bad wind here yesterday, but I watered them and weighed them down before, so only two tipped over. I've had others tip over other days though. It has been a windy spring. Mine have been out since early March and are very happy and sprouting. I just sprayed them for scale today because they had some from the winter. Bob, your yard looks wonderful as always. Jan, the flowers look great, and Michael, I love your trees loaded with fruit. Happy belated Easter everyone!

Mike I’m so sorry to hear about that it has been terrible with the virus and living with some one elderly too its very stressful. Please take care of your mom and yourself and keep your spirits up. We will come out on the other end of this come summer and everyone will post all their beautiful citrus trees and this will have seemed like a bad dream.

Hey Mike, every end of spring has always been rough on people in horticulture. This spring is just like the others. Just brush it of, it ain’t no biggee. It will be replace with a whole lot of days of happier nature. We choose the tree’s or plants that are a little hard to grow but at the end, happy pay back!!

For me? Today is one of the finest moments, NO More Worries, about freezes!! It’s April 15.

My plants and trees can go back to growing normally, they going to be happy again.

Jan and Laura, thank you and hugs at least we can do here. I really appreciate the kind words. The sun is out today but just cold. Hopefully I can put mine out by May. Hapy Easter to both.

Bob, you make a lot of sense and have such a nice spirit. Thank you for what you say and for all your help and activity here. We'd be lost without you. At least I have a few little figs on my trees and they are outside no matter what. I think they can handle low thirties as long as they don't freeze. I have them up against the sunny back side of my house. They love it there) Thank again buddy.

Mike take care of your self. If you should catch covid19 it would be best not to be sick with anything else.

And please be safe out there this virus is killing Even the young now sadly. try and stay home and get everything delivered if you can. We are doing the same bunkering down as much as we can and getting food delivered most days and just keeping busy in the greenhouse. Mike have you had any of your citrus fruits these days? Mike, I am sorry for your loss. I've been a mess myself, I work as a medical assistant in a primary care doctor's office and life is very strange right now. Would therapy through telemedicine be an option for you? Insurance companies are covering appointments done over the phone or
through video chat, so it is possible to get help while staying
sheltered. We all need help in these extraordinary times.

Thank you to those of you posting pictures of your trees outdoors in the sunshine, it's encouraging to see. I've only got one citrus, a calamondin. It and my collection of tropical plants are still crammed into my apartment and will be for a while. We had a few inches of snow last night on top of the daffodils. Our average last frost date is over a month away.
