What area is that?

You don't need more accessories. I would remove the floor bins with the sticks as well as the lanterns. I would place a piece of art or a mirror on the empty wall and another over the buffet piece, with the mirror in whichever spot it best reflects the light. That keeps the focus higher on the wall rather than the floor.

This area is an ell cove beside a staircase with living room in front of it.

I think I'd turn the dresser to the other wall, so you're looking at it as you come down the stairs. Nothing on top, but a colorful piece of art over it to greet those coming down.

Do you have any more pictures that show the area and the living room?

I think you mean "alcove" not "ell cove" & an alcove is actually a small recessed area, a niche. I think the light switch & thermostat are in the way of moving it to the other wall. I doesn't look bad where you have it but those sticks in containers on either side of it must go. They don't look right, clutter the space & are indeed in the way of the staircase. Also remove those tall lanterns. You need colorful art above it. Take another photo (head on) once those items have been removed so we can see how much space you actually have there.

Here is pic head on and the living room that is in front.

Well, this is obviously part of your other dilemma, but it is all the same room and all the space and furniture should have been included in your earlier post. I'd delete this one, take more pix so we see all of the area you're working with, and we can deal with all of it it once. How does the staircase relate to the second picture here? I think you should stand on the stairs and shoot every wall and corner, taking shots clockwise around the entire space. You have enough furniture, but it does need tweaking. You might rough out a floor plan with measurements too.

...

Here are a couple of suggestions.

Are you married to that secretariat cabinet? I'd remove it and put in a console with artwork above or just artwork on that wall.

A chair, small table and a light for a nice reading area if you're into that
