Last month I divided the root clump of a 2.5 year old Tuberose and re-planted them. Not all the small side bulb-lets were removed, and a couple of the new plants are coming up with 4 or more separate pieces less than 1/2 inch from the main stem.

Would it be good to remove the side bulbs when it's that crowded? Or just leave them be? They're about 2 inches deep, and the soil above is still loose. I was thinking to clear out the topsoil and cut/excise them cleanly with scissors or Exacto knife or scalpel, trying not to disturb the young roots of the big central bulb. Or try to snap them off with a tongue depressor or flathead screwdriver?
