Okay thanks Emily. No they have just sat on that tray since being cut. I will stick some in some potting soil and mist lightly. Thanks for the tip.

Misting succulents is a bit controversial & can sometimes lead to rot. Those leaves will eventually root w/out it. What's required most is time & patience; respectfully the leaves are on their own schedule, not yours.

Are you talking about leaves or stems?

Leaves should not be cut. Stems yes. I do not wait until leaves callus, and seldom for thin stems - maybe 1/2 hr or less. If stem is thick, I wait longer. Sometimes even few days - depends how thick it is.

Leaves could be propped against rim, or put upright so they just touch potting mix (but not absolutely necessary). Here are some grown that way (those are leave of Tricolor jade, but they grow same way):

More often, I just leave them on top as you did - they grow just the same. I do not mist them at all - some ppl do - I usually start watering after at least 2.5-3 weeks or so. They usually grow roots by then, so they can 'drink'. Mother leaf has lots of moisture in it, and watering is not needed until there are roots.

Stem cutting are usually stuck in the mix. Watering starts also after a while, since they would rot if they are wet and do not have roots. Here are some grown that way:

Not really, usually 8 - 15 days. Sometimes faster. Tricolor could be bit slower but not much - at least that is my experience.
