Will a honed marble not show etching?

It will still show etching but it's not as noticeable as etching on polished marble. It depends on the light in your kitchen. I've put it in kitchens where you have to look closely to find the etching and others where it's in front of a large window coming down to the countertop and it's pretty noticeable.
