Split A/C Positioning

last modified: 6 years ago

hi all

we are finishing a 2 floor apartment, with the top floor being an open space layout. We are struggling to find the best position to place the split a/c units (we are considering two units).

I am attaching a layout of the floor. The architect suggested placing one unit over the main door in the kitchen, and the other next to the living room window, but I have serious reservations about the efficiency of these locations (shown as boxes with an asterisk inside).

Actually he suggested as alternative a ducted solution which would nevertheless cost more than double in comparison to two split units.

This is the last floor and we intend to have the outdoor units on the roof of the building.

We would also like to avoid direct blowing onto the sofa.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks
