Esther..these spring frosts are getting old aren't they?..

NW - your squirrels sound like they have a vendetta against you. What did you ever do to them? I love Arisaema (Jack). I have a few different ones I grow. I'm not sure whether to curse that early warm spell that got stuff so far along or these more "normal" frosts. I thought I was done with it and now we have a freeze warning - blah! I covered some stuff but since I woke up early decided I would try spraying water on the rest.

steve..yesterday I was cleaning up the mess they made from digging in Regal Splendor..Friendly (hubby named him) comes up..stands on his hind legs..rests his front paws on the hydrangea pot and starts chewing..I was a ft away!..I said "No stop that!!"..he just kept chewing..he didn't stop until I got peanuts and lured him out into the yard..they haven't chewed on any pots except for these 2 brown ones..and I had the pots for a few years before it started..they've uprooted small newly planted hosta before I started putting stones next to them..but they've harmed Praying Hands..biting roots and stems..

the sidewalk was clean when we got up..the rocks helped..

I don't like it..but it seems early hostas with spring freezes will be an annual routine..

I’m enjoying seeing the plants emerge but hope the frost damage on my hostas isn’t as bad as it looks. Another freeze last night sure didn’t help.

mac..thank you!..keep looking..I love sharing pics when the plants are full..taking pics helps me make garden design decisions..you can study the pics to see what new plants (or moving plants) would improve the look..

NW, all your plants are coming up nicely. Maybe your little NOID is Fire & Ice.....we have had such a cold Spring so far. I have pips just barely showing, except for one of my NOIDS and Royal Standard which are maybe 1-2 inches up. It is close to time to do the drench, but I can barely see some pips and some aren’t even there yet. Also been waaaay too cold and windy for me to hobble about. Still cold at night too. Feels like Spring will never arrive. My husband and I always say we have no Spring here, it goes from winter to summer by June! :-)

djacobz..it's spring at my house!..but the overnight temperatures drop too much!..I don't think my teeny weeny is Fire and Ice..I have the advantage of having seen it full size..I don't have Fire and Ice but isn't the white crisp and bright?..the white on mine isn't as white..
