Jo.. I did use this stuff a few years ago. It was on some real cheapo plastic outdoor planting urns. It looked pretty good.. especially from a distance. LOL.

I would worry that you'll lose some of the fine detail, especially on the basket. Can you test it out on something else first?

I used it for an outdoor project and it was perfect.; looked like stone and outlasted the item itself. However, I'd also be concerned about losing detail with your project.

I also used it to spray an outdoor planter, and it worked nicely, but agree it probably wouldn't work well with the scale of your object. I think you could get away just using a paint technique, as there is already good texture on the dog and basket. Here's one approach that's accomplished by spattering different shades of stone colored paint.faux stone pots

I would spray and then use a dental tool (or similar) to remove some of the excess in the grooves.
