Help choosing a rug, please
Hi. This is our front sitting room. Please excuse the makeshift "quarantine office" in the front window. It's usually not there and quite open. I'm generally not a fan of clutter. The walls are BM Cloud Cover, which is not quite as crisp looking as I had hoped, but I will work around them. The couch is brown distressed leather and there's a grey chair. I don't love the coffee table but it was so expensive that I'm not sure about getting rid of it. I am open to perhaps switching it out for something more substantial but for now, the rug is my priority. This one is old and the pattern has faded. The walls were darker when I first put it down. The picture is new, and I love it, so it is staying. I will switch out the cushions as well, but these were just there for the winter and I will wait to see what colours are in the rug. Suggestions please? Thanks for your help.

As for rug since you love the painting I would suggest a rug with some of those colors and if you want to keep it from fading get some solar shades in 105 in a dark color to help with keeping view but what they do is control the heat and UV rays let yu keep the view have daytime privacy but you will need drapes for night time privacy if you need it. How about something like this with some pillows in colors from the rug.

6 years agolast modified: 6 years agoI think a somewhat subdued, traditional/transitional rug would be lovely here. Something that anchors the entire room, but isn’t too matchy with your art. I don’t think you need a loud blue to compete with the artwork. It can stand alone.
I love Houssaon’s first suggestion up there. Beautiful rug!
Of course, I don’t know what other rooms/decor are near this open one, so these may not work. (Or you may not like the more traditional style.)
With styles like these rugs, I’d get multi-colored and solid pillows, and especially some with texture. For example, West Elm. Mixing some modern in with traditional.
