I am also interested in learning more about the large offset patio umbrelllas in lieu of building something that I can't move around. I like the flexilbility of a large umbrella but I want some heft and stabilty in the umbrellas

I ended up buying an 11ft Cantilever Umbrella with solar lights. I bought it on sale for $399, it's now $499
Here is a night shot and one day shot I just took now.
The cantilever swings 360 deg around over our table, couch and even the hammock. I purposely placed it so we can use the umbrella in 3 places without moving it.
These are any umbrella needs a heavy base that you fill with sand, so you can't move it unless you buy a base with wheels

@diyher - where did you get the ball? How is it powered (batteries?) LOVE it!!
