I don't think there is any other way to rearrange your furniture. You could pull the sectional about 6" off the wall. The piano should not be on an outside wall but unless you can put it in another room that's the only spot for it

I agree with about the towel. My husband insisted on the covering to protect the piano. I’ve give up that fight long time ago..

No other arrangement will work, but I have some suggestions if you want a change and also more impact.

Add a colourful rug that compliments your art and more pillows on couch.

A large and light square coffee table and even accessorize like the above.

Rethink piano area - Remove red table, lamp and tiny floor lamp. Centre piano and accessorize and include a lamp.

Rethink bookshelf and any combination below look be nice.

Target fireplace. Add wicker basket on floor and accessorize mantle for better balance and interest.

Finally you could add drapery. Ikea has nice choices and inexpensive black rods.

Create a wish list, looks at lots of inspiration pictures, watch for sales and prioritize for the greatest impact - I think rug and coffee table will make the biggest difference. Have fun and good luck.

Coffee tables should be 12-18" from the sofa to be useful. Here's a great one with storage. Your rug is a bit small, and the piano is crowded into the traffic path. Is there another room where it can go on an interior wall for its health? Covering it up won't help it sound any better over time if you leave it there.

You really have a decent space. I personally hate furniture against walls (if you have room to do something different). If it were my house I would start by centering the rug with the fireplace. instead of pulling the rug in to the furniture.... pull the furniture up to it. Ideally you would have 1'-1.5' of flooring in front of the fireplace and entertainment center built ins. Then put just the front legs of the sectional on the rug. Or more if you need a bigger walkway. This should give you a descent walkway behind the sectional to get from one side of the room to the other instead of walking through the seating tv viewing area. It may take some time getting used to if you've put furniture along the walls your whole life. It should feel cozier, more comfortable and more open at the same time. I don't see anywhere else in the room for your piano but agree you should remove the covering if you can't put it in another room. Anytime I move furniture around I live with it for a week or 2 before changing again. You need that to really know if it functions better or instead of writing it off because it's just strange.

Nice living room. I suggest getting a darker fabric, similar to your piano or sofa color with some texture to drape over the piano. Then maybe add a sofa table and a shelf above the piano. You'd have new places to add lamps and decor and your living room would look very updated.

I really do like sectionals being closer to fireplace idea. But my current sectional are huge and my living room has a odd layout

You won't know unless you try. Move your stuff, try it for awhile. A week at least to get used to a different layout. What does it hurt. You may really like it ..or not. But without trying something different you are stuck with what you have. Sectionals don't give you a lot of options.

After a divorce and buying my first house for myself, I moved furniture every week or 2 until I found what I liked. No one else telling me to leave it alone. I put things on angles, L'd couch and love seat, put them across from each other. 5 or six different ways. I found the one I liked the best blocked my heat vents so I used that in the summer changing it in the winter. It's easier when you are single. But it doesn't hurt to try and then decide what you like best. Once you find the layout you like it's easier to finish it. Buy things you love and want forever but don't do without something because it's not perfect. If I don't spend a lot of money on something it's easier to buy it while still looking for something better. My mindset is "it's perfect for now". Since I'm married again I don't move the furniture much but I like changing accessories with the seasons. Helps me continue to love my space.

I would get rid of anything between the piano and the sofa. No end table, no floor lamp, no table lamp. You want to dress up the piano so it does not look like a black hole in the room.

Put an arc lamp in the corner of the sectional, a big one.....large scale to fill the volume of the room.

Also a bigger rug 9 x 12 or 12 x 15 maybe, that can pull in some more vibrant colors; your sofa is very large so I think you need very large accessories to balance it out; often times if you shop at Wal Mart or Target TJ Maxx, the scale of accessories can be under sized, so be aware of that......think large.

A large round tray on the cocktail table with big flowers or plant, becomes area for remote so you never lose it......lol.

A solid wood square end table on the sofa end by the bar area with the yellow lamp would be nice.

On the piano place a runner on top for the accessories that were suggested above; it looks very nice. Also a colorful square cushion for the piano bench could be nice unless your bench is padded leather.......just some suggestions, but you are getting a lot of great advice so you can pick and choose....maybe paint the cocktail table a bright fun color to bring your eye to the center of the room....

No piano on outside wall. U did good. Unless u want a console table behind couch.
