notice the shape of the damage.. almost the shape of the leaf above...

which makes me thing cold damage a few weeks back.. when the leaves were closer together ... to me.. its not the same as the ink bleed look ..

but what do i know.. lol ...

now the only question is.. does that look like SS to me .. on these pix????

This Hosta is one I received as a gift from my cousin. I came from the Award Winning Hosta Collection at Spring Hill Nursery. It was labeled Sum and Substance. I dont know. I just labeled it what they sent. If i remember, i will send a better picture in the morning.

It has been cold some mornings. The weather hear is so unpredictable and most of my Hostas are already up and going. I really need to plant them all in the ground. I'll show you a pic of a few i have in pots.

The one in the green pot on top is the Sum and Substance. It has not fully unfurled yet. The one beside it is Liberty.

Haha, I thought I had an Empress Wu, that’s what the label said......anyway, forum members identified it as Sum and Substance. I hate being wrong!

You might want to re-think the idea of planting them in the ground. Not all hosta will do well in zone 8, as we do not have enough "chilling hours". Keeping them in pots allows them to get more time in a colder environment than if they are in the ground.
