Backyard Mini Makeover

During our current World crisis (and being furloughed), I've had a lot of extra time on my hands, so decided to give a section of my backyard a sitting area....no need for a gym - I've got rocks to move;)

wow! especially love the pop of color with the chairs. Is there a firepit in the future?

haha @Marla - why yes, shopping for firepits now;)

I'm confused about the After picture. it shows a nearly entirely flat/level surface, both for the new seating area and immediate surroundings.

The Before picture shows a sizeable consistent slope, starting at the house and extending all the way down the hill and out of the picture frame.

How did the After landscape become a flat surface with no retaining walls?

Wow, you sure used your stay-at-home time well! What a sweet sitting area!

@Booty Bums (cute name, by the way) - it is very sloped, for sure. I have been making my own "dirt" for the last 8 years (I have 3 composting spots at the edge of the yard for fallen leaves, sticks, mowed lawn clippings, etc.) I moved the biggest rocks I could manage to sort of form a low retaining wall at the back of the seating area, filled it with dirt, then topped it with a few stepping stones & river rock pebbles. It's not completely level, as I don't own a level, but close enough that you don't feel crooked sitting there. haha

Let me know when you build the fire pit, I'll bring the ingredients for s'mores!
