I love my vinyl (LVP) floors: look fantastic, easy to clean, hard to damage. I agonized between wood and LVP and am glad I chose the latter. The tile is harder on the body and can chip- had it once and didn’t like it.

Wood look tile is floor tile, but looks like wood. Made of ceramic or porcelain and has grout. As a general rule, I would not install in a large are of the home. Reasons: 1) It is trending out of style 2) Hard on the feet and back 3) Feels cold 4) Labor intensive (hence expensive) to install. 5) Does not come in nice, long planks.

LVP is vinyl that comes in planks and looks very much like a wood floor. It comes in very long planks, so gives the appearance of real wood (if you choose the right brand).

If you install a floating floor, should one of the planks become damaged (unlikely) you can pull one out and replace it.

I like Coretec, but there are other good brands.

I lived in FL and loved my wood look tile! Tile will last for years and years. Stands up to muddy dog paws, kid spills, heck a flood could happen and the tile will be fine. I didn't go into it thinking I was trying to make my floors look like wood though. I wanted a tough floor that would stand up to FL weather and that was not the 12x12 tile that was all the rage in middle-income houses.

On the other hand, I have NEVER seen LVP that looks like real wood...maybe the little sample you see looks like wood but once it's down...ick. Every home I've ever seen that has it looks fake and plasticky. Really, every single home. Granted, I'm not touring million-dollar homes either. I'm thinking to get LVP that looks like wood you have to spend a pretty penny and if that's the case just get real wood because it will be cheaper!

Yes, Susan, what is that? Being home and inside so much, I am looking around and realize that the cheap carpet installed in this house 15 years ago before I bought it will not last forever.

I bought it from Prestige Flooring in Sacramento...it has the number 19-002 on the back. I think it may be one of their own products. I’m afraid I can’t find the name. I will look for the receipt. I looked long and hard for a product that was medium brown without much gray or yellow, in wide plank, with long boards!
