I’m about to renovate my bathroom and am having a difficult time deciding what to do about the medicine cabinet. This is a small bathroom (5 ft x 7 3/4 ft). We need as much storage as I can get. This cabinet is 20 wide by 33 and would sit vertical above the vanity.

One of the ideas was to put a horizontal medicine chest in and extend it above the toilet with a little built in shelf the length of it.

I am torn as to which one to proceed with. If Ii did the horizontal medicine cabinet, could I do a similar light but longer? Or would I need to add recessed lights in my bathroom?

I’d love to hear if anyone has any thoughts either way.
