But I did put out pellets a couple of days ago after a rain. The next day I saw something whitish on the soil.

Luckily I purchased 50 lbs of Deadline before it was taken off the market. Since I started using it about 15 years ago slugs have been a thing of the past. Having said that I like the idea of using something less toxic like ammonia. How often does it need to be applied? Thanks.

Curious, exactly what constitutes "drench"? On a medium size hosta (lets take June) with an 18" diameter of 25 pips would you use a quart, gallon or what? I just spray them with the solution, trying to get inside the pips if possible and wetting the crown and base. I know the solution has to contact the slugs to kill them, wonder if the residue will also deter them.
