Awkward master bathroom

I just purchased this house. This is the master bathroom. Any ideas on how to help this situation??? I feel it is so awkward looking with a split vanity. The bathroom is long and narrow. Across from the vanity is a stand up
Shower and door. To the right is the walk in closet which you access through the bathroom. Please help!

    Get rid of the tub.

Well how much money are you willing to throw at it? If you use the tub then just improve backsplash mirrors and lighting. Bigger mirror, full wall of tile and sconces would visually improve what you have. But that doesn’t change the layout. So do you want to throw a few thousand at it or many many many thousands?

I would need to know your budget . I love a tub but that looks just odd I hate toilet rooms inside bathooms they waste space and IMO have no purpose . No one should use the toilet while someone else is in the bathroom. Walkin closet access through the bathroom is always poor design , Those vanities don’t seem to connect to anything the backspalsh is off so are the sconces and IMO the mirrors it ’s like they found a bunch of stuff cheap and put it together. But it really will depend on how much you want change and how much money you want to spend. The shower could stand to be larger and that could happen if the toilet room was gone.

I actually like it! I agree that larger mirrors are needed. I am not good with accents but IMO the dark cabinet areas and white tub and trim don't flow. Need something to pull it together.

My budget is large. I just want to make it look perfect. I’m willing to move the toilet/closet/tub etc

I’d say hire a really good designer that can rework the whole space. I see a relatively small closet with the access to it being awkward (is this space vented properly, etc) but you may think the closet size is fine for your needs. Do you need a tub? Are you over a first floor, basement on slab or crawl? Can you move windows? You have a lot of questions to answer before you can get any answers of value.

I also recommend gutting and rearranging the bathroom. To save a bit, a smaller tub could be placed where the giant tub plumbing is, but you would still end up with odd vanities. I never have the closet accessed through the bathroom: it’s inconvenient and it allows moisture to flow freely into the closet. I would close up the existing closet door and open a new door directly from the bedroom. I prefer a vanity with a bank of four drawers for each person. When we redid our master bath, we eliminated the tub in favor of a nice big step-in shower. If you like to bathe, a smaller tub could be included.

Beverly‘s larger mirror solution is spot on For needed scale and balance. Add some carpets in front of the vanities and maybe drape a folded bath at towel on the tub. Can you try a tall orchid plant behind the tub, say on a short pedestal to give it height. It should grow well in front of the window. I have several orchids in my bath and they look amazing. I think your bath looks lovely.

I’d be happy to eliminate the tub in favour of a walk in shower. I agree with altering the access to the closet. Underneath is a finished basement. Moving the window isn’t an option, but walls and doors can be moved.

Is that a skylight in the hall just outside the master entrance?

Not a pro .. the backsplash ending at each vanity is creating the feeling of an awkward space. I think it would help to have the same tile extend behind the tub, connecting the two vanity areas

The tub looks like it gets in the way. Can you change the window? Then you could get a smaller tub and place it to the right, across from the shower, and have one long vanity. But the window would have to change somehow.

Oops, sorry, I just saw that the window cannot be changed. So, either eliminate the tub and have a long vanity with lots of storage, or keep the tub and tile behind it like the backsplashes. That will tie the wall together.

What is the depth of the bathroom? Would you consider accessing the closet through the bedroom only?

Lights are dark in finish - I think they accentuate smaller / no visible frames in mirrors below them. I'd like a photoshop of them with light/er.

Looks like a do over to me! Hire a good designer and get the bathroom and closet you can live with and love! This mess will drive you nuts!

Looked again, and saw the wide visual added by dark towels/bars.

Can you see if same stuff would look good brought in front of outlet - bringing the visuals forward / not to the sides.

Sorry, but now I see that Bev's dark frames and tiny bit larger do it good -- better lines.

Is it even possible to reach the bath fixtures to turn on the water without being in the tub😳

I have some suggestions but without knowing the measurements of the bathroom and closet, it is hard to know if this could fit:
