Have no idea from your photo what the colors in the room might be. You said living room, but this looks like a dining room.

How do ya feel about vintage 1920s Chinese Deco rugs or a vaguely similar facsimile?

What are the chairs like?

these are great! i attached a photo of the chairs

The mirror has to go it is reflecting nothing worth seeing twice.I do not like those MCM chairs with that very farm table style, IMO you barelt have space for a rug since you need a min. of 3 ‘ all the way around the table ideally with a space of hardwood showing all around too. I like eclectic but the pieces still need to have proportion and some connection to each other . That tall cabinet again very traditional but not really working with the chairs.I need to see the whole space LR and DR toghether.I find the wallpaper a bit out of its element with the arched doorways the different trim around the sliding door so I really need to see it all.

Thank you Patricia! There is a leaf in the table that can come out if you think that would make it fit better? The wall paper is actually hand stenciled/painted by the previous owner so I would really like to make it work. What can you recommend in place of the cabinet and mirror in these corners? This wall makes things so hard! Plus we're new professionals so coming together with two sets of furniture trying not to spend a lot of money has been tough! I'll take some bigger picture photos so you can see the house as a whole. thanks again I appreciate your honesty!

Really hard to tell the color - is it the lighting that is making the space seem so yellow? Are your chairs those MCM with dark grey seat pads?

yes - it's hard to get a natural light photo as it's in the middle of the house - now that it's morning I'll try to get a better photo

what does MCM mean?

oh mid century modern
