Sometimes it's best if they just don't know. It's the same with my DH's fishing equipment and supplies. Does anyone really need 40 rods and reels? Haha.

I don't allow DH to see mine. If I did I would probably never get another Joann Fabrics gift certificate ever again.

My husband and I practice don't ask don't tell, lol. Honestly he never really comments at all on my stash, although I'm not entirely sure he knows exactly how much I have either.

My husband is an enabler in the stash supply! He is always getting me JoAnns gift cards. I also inherited several tubs of fabrics from two different friends - one's wife died and the other's mother - and they were both quilters. I have been using lots of the stuff I am not crazy about for making masks (about 350 so far) and that has actually reduced almost one tub! DH is a computer guy and bicycle guy, so he gets that stuff, I get fabric! (I do think sometimes it multiplies in the closet when I am not looking!)

The mother of my childhood best friend has the whole length of one wall in the garage dedicated to three shelves that all hold 50gal storage bins full of fabric on them, and at the end of the shelves there is a row with one 50 gal storage bin on each of the 3 shelving levels with patterns and/or notions (which one - patterns or notions - depends on which bin you're looking inside of). The house is a 3 bedroom, one of the two smaller bedrooms is dedicated to sewing; three regular machines, two sergers, a sewing/cutting table, an ironing board, and in its small closet there is even more fabric. :P Their two car garage has never in all the 35 years I've known them, had a car parked in it.

She brings an empty suitcase on their vacations - in case there's a fabric store and she sees fabric(s) that she likes.

I had to make the decision to drastically reduce my fabric stash when we were in the process of packing up the house to list it and once sold, to move across the country. I currently only have enough fabric to fill up four of the six drawers between the two dressers that are in my sewing/craft/home office room. I recently went in and made masks to donate with some of the larger scrap pieces in patterned prints (the solid colored ones I made masks for my own household with) I had rather than giving them away by the bag full and letting whoever took them figure out what they wanted to do with those.

My plan was not to collect a bunch of fabric. It weighs on me to do something with it. Although the scraps that were donated to me weight on me too, at least there isn't that much.

My sister's friend's mother died some time ago, and my sister asked if I wanted all her sewing stuff. I hesitantly said yes, not knowing what she had. The daughter hasn't had a chance to clean out the house yet, so I don't know when and if I am getting anything for sure. I sure hope there is a sit down quilting machine. LOL

My bins are out on shelves in the basement ( my sewing space) but I don't think DH has any idea how much is there. But since I do sewing for one of his groups, he can’t and doesn't complain.
