I'm not a fan of white walls but adding additional lighting would make a huge difference. Small lamps on the hutch ? Is the chandelier the right size? Could it be bigger? . Also a mirror on the wall that faces the room with the Windows.

White dove is a great color.

I agree that lighting would help. Planning on a new chandalier (just bought the table) and a mirror. I haven't chosen the wallpaper, but was thinking of a navy and white pattern. The colors in the back room are white dove and hale navy. We just painted it, and I'm surprised how much I love the white.

If you do wallpaper on that wall please remove the shelves above the buffet. BTW the wallpaper has to me a bit of a scandanavian feel and your spaces are IMO more MCM . I do agree you need a lot more lighting in both spaces.

Take care of the lighting issue before selecting paint. Brighten with pure white shades on the buffet lamps. I'd rather the back wall be white as well. Then remove the top of the cabinet and a large piece of art and a pair of lamps there. Many Houzzers like LEDs in the 4K range and you may too..

Think how you would decorate wall above the bottom part of shelving unit.

Oh my goodness, thank you celerygirl! That does brighten it up. I was planning on doing a large, round mirror if using wallpaper. If I don't do wallpaper, then some art.

I would add more light, get couple lamps for credenza.
