i would get them back in shade... to reduce new stress ...

and then give them a week or 2.. to see how new growth is.. if its good.. well.. problem solved ... once that is established... i might snip off a couple of the uglies ... just so i could start to forget about my bad ...

btw.. new growth should be hardened off by definition ...

always try to give the plant time to recover.. before you go lopping off the uglies.. even damaged leaves can be a benefit to the plant.. too many peeps want to immediately 'fix' things ... be patient ...

That happened to me this crazy spring as well. Just give them a couple days in the shade, as Ken said. You will likely see new green growth at the growing stem. I went ahead and planted mine out, and as the tomato plants started to produce tiny flowers to be, I pulled off everything two leaves below the first flower cluster, which included the sunburned leaflets. So far, everything look good. Hope this is helpful.
