Wood floor stain color

I moved in a month ago and I love the shine of our wood floors but our 75 lb labrador is destroying it with scratchs, so we are getting ready to have it removed and put a new matte finish, we have red oak wood and some parts are white oak! I want some color that will help me since i have kids and dogs! i had dark brown before and it is really hard to mantain clean

my home style dream is farmhouse so what stain color do you recommend?

Your flooring refinisher is going to have to stain-match for each species. The lighter/mid-tones can be used to keep the floors a tone-on-tone match. To get a PERFECT colour match you will need to go a bit darker.

I like the colour in the second photo. That's what I would go for. But I'm going to through in a bit of caution. BOTH photos show issues with moisture. The first photo shows OBVIOUS cupping of the wood planks (that's when the middle of the plank sits LOWER than the edges). The second photo is also showing some issues.

Please check your humidity levels BELOW the wood floor.

I recommend you work with a HIGH END 2part water based product with THREE coats (3) of the expensive finish (not 1 primer + 2 finish). It is more expensive but the WEAR is 10 times better than lower cost stuff.

Water based products cure FASTER and they do NOT smell.
