The bed is too shallow, it needs to be at least 3' deep. You could grow something like Hostas or 3 or 4 rows of Liriope (if it grows there.)

Ferns--many to choose from--might also work.

daylilies... but all of these will look like nothing in the winter if that matters. Grasses retain the most architectural interest for the longest, in my experience.

I have a spot like that as well along shed. IThe previous owners had rocks as well but didn't maintain so it got full of weeds. We took it all out & never went further. Do the plants hep with drainage though ?

Or daylilies or peony ... whatever works for the light and moisture conditions.
