How cute!!!!! Is there any difference between the boy and the girl doll? It looks like it is just the clothes, just like most very young children. I would say that they represent toddlers.

Due to the lack of gingham in red at my local Joann's ("Out of stock in store" said the website), I went on eBay and ordered some, after the Byron pattern arrived yesterday. I have plain red. I also looked at some small red and white striped fabric on eBay, but that one was an auction. I made a bid, haven't looked at it yet today.

They probably would have come dressed in cottons, right, rather than a cotton/jersey knit? I may make a shirt or shorts in knit anyway, since I have plenty of red knit from an old t-shirt.

So, the pattern arrived a week or so ago. I traced the pattern onto heavy sew-on interfacing, then cut out a pair of pants. Finally got them sewed today.

OH MY!!! This must be a pattern meant for a larger doll, as I followed all the directions (1983 on the pattern) and the picture shows....TOO BIG! I'm going to have to cut them down in length and width of the leg. It's one of those patterns where it's both front and back in the same piece. Sew inseam, sew crotch seam, waistband calls for 1/8" elastic (which I do not have....can you even buy it any more?)

Anyone have suggestions on cutting this pattern down to size for my skinnier Campbell Kid? (I have more red fabric, that's not at issue at all.)
