Custom Cabinets for Kitchen

Does anyone have a great suggestion to order custom cabinets that allow a DIY - er to get involved and save some money? I've been looking online and find some that are RTA or finish yourself, yet can be ordered in custom sizes. Any ideas would be welcome.

My friend did ikea cabinets and added crown moulding etc to make them look custom, they have way better products now.
