We just ripped up old carpet and painted our whole upstairs and steps with paint. It was a laborious project but the upstairs looks great! Very nice look and saved us a few thousand dollars as an alternative to wood floors. The steps on the other hand haven't worked out so great.

We painted them white and then a different color center all the way down. We notice after one walk up the steps, they show a lot of dirt. Is there something to alleviate this? At first, we thought it was the paint. So we bought Benjamin Moore floor and porch paint. Same thing. The paint (white and the solid orange color) shows some much dirt.

Any advice would be appreciated.
