IME, with consistent watering, cherry tomatoes only split when too ripe. Start harvesting before they reach that stage.

SunSugar, similar taste and size to SunGold, but less of a problem with splitting.

Sunsugar, and Juliet if you like them a touch bigger. Juliet is a large grape tomato, about twice the size of an average sweet 100. Have never had splitting with them and it made my favorites list the first year I grew them.

A third vote for Sun Sugar, and I’ve also had good luck with Husky.

Matt's Wild Cherry is the tastiest cherry tomato, IMO! Lovely to snack on straight from the vine, and I have never noticed splitting in four years. YMMV, tho...

Pretty much all cherry tomatoes will split if left on too long or when given too much water. The key is to harvest daily and especially before watering or if rain is expected.

Although not a cherry, my favorite salad tomato is now Pink Ping Pong. The name tells you everything you need to know about it except that the taste is wonderfully sweet and it holds well on the vine with little to no splitting. Unlike cherries that should be picked at peak ripeness for best flavor, PPP can be picked at early blush and will ripen to full flavor on the counter. PPP is not as productive as cherry tomatoes but you can expect 200+ fruit from a single healthy plant.

You might like Purple Bumblebee, Sprite, SunOrange F1, Snow Fairy, Blue Berries, Brad's Atomic Grape, Fahrenheit Blues, Post Office Spoonful, and Chocolate Sprinkles F1. Purple Bumblebee is a RIN tomato (which means the flesh never softens after ripening).
