trees are advantageous ... they can take advantage of pre exisiting problems with a foundation or sewage.. etc ... but they rarely create or cause such problems ...

so if you have a modern intact foundation... it should be a problems ... or modern sewer pipes ...

Missouri Botanical Garden has this to say: " It is of note that this tree has a shallow, flattened root system that may buckle nearby sidewalks or driveways if planted too close."

At 8' away, you'd be safe for quite a long time (decades at least.) For trees that are close to houses, the back branches (or whatever is in conflict) should just be trimmed away. It can't be seen from the front so makes no difference regarding the visual aspect.
