Hi,

Has anyone remodeled a straw bale home? The house has wood framing, so there are no structural concerns, but it has the thick bale walls for insulation. Every house I have ever worked on has had some measure of water damage. Not always mold, but staining from leaks, condensation or minor flooding. I don't assume this house will be immune. Am I going to find a bunch of moldy, slimy straw? This house has stucco exterior and drywall/latex paint interior--so walls are no more breathable than those in a conventional home. Curious to hear others' experiences and learn what to do in case there is decomposing straw inside. Thank you.
