I have a couple pairs of lightweight slippers, the kind with the soft fabric soles with little rubbery nubs on them; the fabric on the soles have totally worn out but the uppers are still in good shape, so I wanted to repair them. I bought the grippy fabric, but I'm quite a sewing newbie (I've done small repair work on some clothing, made a teddy bear from a pattern, a few other things). I don't have a sewing machine.

Anyway, my question is: can I get away with a "quick fix" on this? Like just cutting out the fabric and adhering it using fabric glue (I have some Beacon Fabri-Tac which I've used for a couple of patches before with good success)? Or do I need to remove the entire sole, turn the slipper inside out, and sort of "upholster" the sole?
