4 1/2 years ago, we bought rolls of white variegated plastic liners for the kitchen, at BB&B, and cushiony woven liners for the bedroom dressers.

You didn't ask my opinion about this, but are those plastic brackets in the back to hold the slides? Do you have any other options to hold the slides?

Get rid of those nasty epoxy glides. All of that work, and to be left with those. SMH

Yes, Duck has several liners that are great.

I like Lifeliner. I like the tiny ridges/ribs that raise the glasses/dishes off the surface - even by such a small amount, it makes a difference in air circulation. I also like that it is easily wipeable with a sponge. Some of the cushier liners don’t wipe easily the way a smooth plastic does. It comes in 12”d x 25’l, or 24”d x 20’l.

Costco sells larger rolls of the clear plastic stuff with the ridges that raises your stuff off the surface to allow for circulation. I think it's Contact brand but it's not sticky. Best value for the money by far if you need to do a whole kitchen. The amount you need adds up fast.

I finally made it to a Family Dollar but they did not have it.

Could it have been a Dollar General? That's the only other alternative I can think of. Your suggestion was definitely very intriguing. :)

Were the mats you were thinking of made of plastic or were they like an actual rug?

They are made of pastic/rubber not "rug" as in pile.

The other suggestion that I have used is a "fatigue mat" also available at "Dollar" type stores.

It is blue.

It's quite thick and would be waterproof. Just cut to size.

Another item I have used is those mats that are supposed to go in the bottom of the

bathtub to prevent slipping. I have that in some of my drawers also.

Think outside the box when looking for a liner.

I tried to get a photo of the above 2 types of items, but don't have a cell phone

and my camera did not take a good photo, they were too dark.

Got my camera working, something got adjusted without my knowledge, so here are a couple of pictures. The blue is the fatigue mat and it's quite thick and would be waterproof.

The white is the bathmat. Those spots on the picture are

crumbs. This is the

drawer that has crackers and cereal so needs to be taken out and shook. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the update. I like that the mat you found is washable.

I use the rolls of rubbermaid nonstick liners with a pebbly texture cut to fit
Now, under my kitchen sink and in utulity closet I get an inexpensive rubber backed doormat. When it needs cleaning I throw in the washer. The cheerful designs make it a brighter spot when searching for the sponge trying to escape to the back.

Those darn sponges are always trying to escape ! lol

To go to all that expense and trouble.... and not go a tiny step further. Geez.
