Without dimensions it would be hard to tell if it is a toy, salesman sample, or a store display piece. I do not think it is old enough to be an apprentice piece that was made to prove their skill.

Tehre is a lot of myth about "salesman's samples".....certainly not as big as that seems. True salesman's samples were meant to be carried by iterinerant sales men.....and were more often seen in stoves and things of that nature. More likely it was meant for a child....or it was a larger piece modified....I am puzzled by the different color of the mirror.
Let's see the back and how the drawers are put together.
And let's see the bottom.....it could have been a dresser that was cut down and had legs added.....or a small stand that had the mirror added.

I will take more pics today. I don’t believe it was cut down as I have two that are similar. This is the other one I have.

It’s 10 1/2” from the floor to the bottom of the start of the cabinet and 17 1/2” from floor to just above the three little drawers of the first piece. I don’t believe a child could have used this. Maybe a display for a furniture store? Maybe for Jewelry?

Could be a piece of doll's furniture for a child in a well-to-do family.

it’s pretty big for Doll furniture. 🤔 I was thinking may a store sample display for ordering larger piece 🤷‍♀️ They are a mystery, I’ve asked a lot of people and even antique dealers say they’ve never seen anything like them in all there years.

Maybe a dressing table. Both my grandmother's had one. Center mirror and drawers on side. I've seen two styles, one more desk like with space for legs, one you can sit in front of. Maybe if bits child sized it is made for a child to use in their bedroom.

I don't see any evidence of "hand made". And that mirror is definitely not orginally where it is now. Porportions are wrong for a sample or even a dolls house.....best guess is either it's made up of other stuff ( and the mirror makes me wonder) or it was a piece made especially for a very privileged little girl.

It's weird that there are two. That makes you think it's a "thing" and not just a one-off.

I have never seen anything like that and I have been looking buying collecting and studying antiques for about 60 years.....and never seen anything like that.....and you have 2?

The mirror on the second one looks like it was originally part of the piece.

That’s the odd thing, they are not high enough to sit on a stool and put your legs under, that’s why I didn’t think they were for a child. I haven’t found anyone that knows what they are. Yes, I have two and the second one all looks the same color, maybe the first mirror broke and it was replaced? IDK. I would like to sell them but I can’t seem to get any info on value. Thanks

When you look at those appraisals be aware that if Insurance Value is mentioned that would not be the amount you would receive if you sold it.

I did have a brief thought. My dad mentioned that when he was in HS and took shop classes the final grade was based on something that the student made. Since the OP mentions that they have a couple of similar pieces I wondered if they were acquired in the same area. If they were this is another avenue to explore. Some of the gingerbread looks mass produced while the main body appears to be individually made.

Bought them years ago at a second had store, someone had dropped them off and never came back. They were using them for a display and asked the owner if she wanted to sell them. I got them for my granddaughters but they couldn’t really sit at them only kneel and they are too big, so wanting to sell them.
