Hi everyone, I'm looking for advice and ideas on what to plant in this patch alongside my house in the backyard. It is east-facing, and gets about 6 hours of morning sun. We had initially planted lavender here but it did not do well. Looking for something low-water, perhaps tall grass like Leymus condensatus 'Canyon Prince'?

I like the fleabane in front of the fountain.

The vine to the right is a clematis that has been struggling (planted last year, never got big enough to bloom, is being eaten, I check it daily and have trained my kids to gently pick off the aphids). I'm not giving up on it.

The vine to the left is a pink jasmine, planted in March. I'm having second thoughts on it and considering a low-maintenace rose. I would move the jasmine to another part of the yard. Thoughts and advice on a rose or other vine?

The third photo is what faces this area. I'm in zone 9b. Thanks in advance!
