One or two faucets for 45" sink—help!

Hi, we are installing an Elkay Circuit Chef sink that's 45" wide. First question: one or two faucets for such a large sink? Question two: the area behind the sink is very narrow (less than three inches). Can we take a side handle faucet like the Grohe Minta and turn the handle toward the center? TIA!

No, because you would have to rotate the entire faucet, including the spout, as shown in the specifications. You could not use that faucet as intended because the handle rotates back nearly 3" from the centerline of the faucet. You could probably use something like this Delta Trinsic whose handle only rotates forward and that requires 1-1/2" behind the centerline of the faucet.

Why? Has the cutout been cut yet? That's an 18" bowl. You should have all kinds of room back there. Elkay's photos show the rear rail at at least 4". Move the sink forward please. If your sink is strapped, not clipped, in place, your front rail can be as small as 2 3/8" as pictured by Elkay.

I'd go one faucet, but make it a doozy.

Yes, sadly our countertop was delivered already cut for this sink by our kitchen people. They admitted it was a planning error (they did not account for backsplash) so unless we have to, we were thinking we wouldn't ask for it to be redone.

Make sure the faucet you pick has a lever that goes forward only and you should be fine.

“...we were thinking we wouldn't ask for it to be redone.“ That’s what I would try to do, as long as it was workable. But I’d also ask the fabricators to give me a price break for the error.
