Ok, I'm still desperate for design advice, trying to fix upholstered furniture buying mistakes. I really made a big mess of things. The sofa color is similar to the tan color shown below - it has red undertones. It's bla; wish it was a 'warmer' and/or lighter shade. So then, I purchased TWO medium/dark denim blue chairs & struggling to tie the blue & tan colors together and don't want the room to look den-like & dreary. Light & airy would be nice but it might be too late for that. I haven't replaced the old drapes, carpet, side tables, lamps, etc. & compounding mistakes, the path I've been on. So the room is at a standstill. I'm using the throw pillows & ottoman that you see in the print fabric although they don't have to remain in the room. The last photo is the rug I purchased that's now in front of the sofa, under the coffee table. What do you all think of the rug & the colors in the rug? (Safavieh Blossom). The blue background color is the same blue shade as the 2 chairs. Should I pull an accent color from the rug? What color(s)? And where to use accent colors. I purchased an identical second rug to use in the entry way but haven't decided whether to keep it. Should the ottoman, pillows, & rug be totally removed and start over?
