That you bought it from a mall rather than an actual seller in the first place?

Most places are closed and I went on line. the point is the return shipping cost is half what I paid for the product which is not good business if you going to shop with them. Not how or where you shop. And the restock fee not going to be half of what you paid either.

It wasn't a tub either it was a skirt.

Shipping a tub is expensive. Was it flawed or not as advertised? Many will charge a restock as well as shipping. Not every retailer works like Nordstrom (who has a high mark up high service model).

Wow, I see its only a skirt. Hmm.

One of the pitfalls of buying online. You have to assume you will pay for shipping one way or the other. And for the return and restocking if you don’t like it. I’d put it on Craigslist or OfferUp or one of the other buy/sell sites that are proliferating.

The whole point is being missed I know restock and return fee. Its never half of what you've paid for the product.

"Its never half of what you've paid for the product."

Actually it can be and often, if not more is I have found. Freight is not cheap, they get a huge discount when merchandise is picked up at their facility. Not so much the other way. The eat the freight when they ship but you pay full fare on returns and that is most definitely the norm. I bet somewhere on their site or your receipt it is there. Probably very small print but from my years in the construction supply business this is the norm. Sometimes it is cheaper to keep the misordered material even on our end.

Good point. Many online vendors are not stocking distributors, so every item is potentially a special order.

    Two examples:

Yesterday I purchased about $7k in non-returnable tile to be shipped. Reviewed the purchase & vendor many times before pulling the trigger.

Last week returned $400 in recessed trims that didn't match samples from the prior week (LEDs are changing). EBay managed that one pretty well (we all pay for that service).

Naw I'm a contractor as while and never had that problem all the company's I ever dealt with didnt charge or a small fee never half what you paid. Also if I paid on my own the way I sent it back never got rejected. This site is taking advantage period.

If you didn't pick up the phone to your local plumbing rep to order your stuff, there something very non contractor like about that situation. Calling yourself a contractor and actually being one are very different things. Knowledgeable and experienced contractors read the fine print. They also only buy from local

supply houses in order to minimize the logistics difficulties that impacts scheduling.

For your info I didnt buy it. My wife did and you don't no notbing about what I am and its a lesson learned for her to talk to me first. I dont call plumbers to do my personal work I do it myself and everything I but is in KC where I from. You read the fine print.

Oversized items that are expensive to ship back are not the kind of thing you should buy online unless you know the details about the return process before you purchase. Consider this a lesson learned, let it go, and move on.

Build charges $446 for that skirt plus $50 for shipping so at $355 you seem to have gotten a very good deal. It appears that Build would have allowed you to return the product with no restocking charge but you would have had to pay the freight. I expect the $150 was to cover the return shipping and that the vendor did not offer more generous terms because it chose to offer products at very low prices.
