foyer decor help

I’ve never had a foyer like this and not sure what to do! I just painted the table, not sure if I like it or not...
Any suggestions on what to do with the space is appreciated. I was thinking maybe an accent chair by the lamp?

Love the blue! Can you add a few more pictures of the foyer?

I love that lamp but I don’t think it fits the space. I agree with LALA, adding a lamp to the blue table and a basket, or tray, to put your keys, sunglasses, dog leash (?) in would be attractive and useful. Will you use this space to put on shoes? If so, a bench, or chair, would be useful in the opposite alcove, if not, I would move that plant over, but I suggest getting it a substantial pot so that it makes a statement. Or splurging on something bigger and airier.

    Better?

I would remove the tree and I like the idea of a bench there.

maybe some art work above it?

Yes, the console looks good there, I love the blue, pulls your eye towards the back of that pretty floral chair. A mirror above it will give you a spot to check your hair on the way out the door 🤪. I agree with eld6161, that plant isn’t quite right, a little too short and blocky for the spot.

I plan to put some stuff on the walls above both sides...probably won’t keep this chair but would get something a little different. Just moving stuff around I already have to get an idea of what I want to do:)
    I really appreciate y’all’s advice!

The chair seems a bit much. If you need seating, do you have a bench you could try?

I like the blue painted piece.

Less is more. I would add a piece of artwork to the area where the chair is now, and remove the chair completely. I wouldn't add anything else to that side. This is intended as a pass through area, so you really don't want to clutter it up with things that won't be used. I would also remove the basket that's sitting on the floor.

Although very nice, the chair is too big for the space. More a lounge chair than a “perch” upon which to sit while putting on boots or placing a purse or backpack before going out of the door. A bench might be more appropriate. One with a back, or an open sided chair with an upholstered seat.

I wanted to share another idea — using a round table with lamp, and chair on the stair side. I think it would look nice to follow the curves of the room. Just my opinion, but I wouldn’t furnish both walls unless you did substantial matching chests/consoles. Putting various furniture pieces up against the walls on both sides doesn’t make sense in a pass-thru of this style (as Ida said) ... it ends up looking like a hodgepodge, and isn’t cohesive.

I couldn’t find one exactly like your entry, but just general examples:

I’d do that (nothing on the other side), have a rug/runner of some sort to soften and ground the space, as well add color/texture, and add art.
