Honestly it has been so easy to clean. I mainly just use a damp microfiber towel. For a good clean I am using a quartz cleaner I got from Target. A little goes a long way. I’ll attach a screen shot of it.

Amy--thank you so much for posting. It looks gorgeous! I am currently agonizing over whether to do the Pental Quartz Sorano Polished or Honed. To you and Julie--have you found that the honed reads lighter than the polished? And Julie, do you think the polished looks close to blackish? Also, would appreciate anything you could share about pricing.

Last, but not least, did you consider any comparable products? I have a sample of the MSI Soapstone Metropolis in concrete finish, but the veining is so much less exciting to me and it reads a bit bluer.

Honed is definitely lighter than polished. I feel like the honed looks more like a dark gray and the polished looks more leaning towards black. Lighting plays a part too. Under crappy lighting mine look darker too. I can post a picture to show as well.

As far as pricing I really don’t even know. We had to get 2 slabs to avoid seams all over. And it was all factored in with my backsplash material and labor. Total for tile under our previous cabinets, 2 slabs of countertops, fabrication, backsplash and backsplash install was $8100

The pricing was $120-130sqft for the countertops. It depends on how many pieces, edges, cutouts, or if it’s all one piece. In photos it looks black, but in person is more dark grey. If you can find a warehouse with one on display it’s better than viewing a small sample.

We just had the same countertops installed and love them!

we use diluted Dawn for normal cleaning and soft scrub if needed. Easy and they look great

I have the polished (not honed) and I clean (soap and water) nightly as I had previously. I don’t feel it is harder to keep clean.

I just saw a sample of the Sorano honed at the tile store yesterday. I had never hear of Pental Quartz before...their quartz looked really good. The Sorano looked so much like soapstone. And I LOVE soapstone. I think I've probably got to go with a white look quartz, but if I didn't, I would be all over this quartz! So beautiful!

I love honed counters too and until I came across your post was leaning towards polished...thanks so much for posting and answering so many questions! I looked back and just wanted to make sure...you did not end up sealing them right?

My wife and I have been flip flopping between honed and polished of this same quartz. This thread has now pushed us back to honed which we really prefer the look of but have the same fears as others on maintenance. Thanks to all the contributors above!

So far every stain we have had has come right out. If there is a more stubborn stain, the magic erasers work great. But honestly no complaints on my part. I’m VERY happy with it and I’m glad to be of some help to those on the fence as I went back and forth myself. :)

Amy - what a beautiful kitchen! So glad I ran across this thread as I too have always loved soapstone but feared upkeep would be too fussy.

I was on the fence about Pental Quartz Sorona honed but all the great photos and information really helped! Thank you Amy and Julie for sharing! I love it. Bedrossian Cloe tile in white and the pot filler inside the coffee station go in next week :)

Thank you. This is our backsplash. Its Bedrosian Cloe tile in White. We install it next week. Our cabinets are Square Raised Panel Cabinets in Classic White from a cabinet maker in our area :)

I purchased a slab of Sorano polished quartz, after considering the honed.

I prefer the "look" as well, but I want practicle.

I do not want to be a slave to a rock, and polished in the grey quartz, showed nothing.

The Livorno polished quartz with the white veining. It still left annoying finger prints.

I almost purchaed it, but the large sample I took home, made me change my mind.

Retro vibe kitchen with 50's YOUNGSTOWN CABINETS, sanded and sprayed in enamel, gloss.

The Cusheen countertops, held up well I must say.

Everything old, comes back around again.

Amy: your kitchen is lovely. I love charcoal countertops❣️When I had my kitchen renovated a few years ago, I chose Silestone charcoal soapstone counters.

I am SO glad I found this post. Thank you Amy for starting it! I love soapstone but for many reasons it's not practical for our kitchen. The cabinet shop showed me the PentalQuartz in Sorona in Honed and Polished and I immediately liked the honed. Thank you for all of your insights and experiences. We have chosen similar cabinet design/color so it's super helpful to see your finished kitchen! Thanks again!

Thank you so much for your feedback on honed quartz. We're looking to use Pental Quartz Tartufo Honed which is a flat black/gray color but was so worried on maintenance. I don't like the shiny look and was looking around for feedback and your post hit the spot!
