    Bob love those poppies! :)

Bob, you always have a good garden show. For sure, heat of summer really starts next week (first 90s). That said, a few of my citrus (lemon, owari, cara cara, an unk mandarin) still think it is spring as they're pushing more flower buds. Other than some veggies and straggler azaleas, those are the only flowers at my abode.

Been changing course a bit lately, adding Blueberries and been grafting Avocados now, grafted a bunch of pluots/plum and some fancy French pears. Added some super figs sions, already grafted and growing. Looking forward to Fall, might be very interesting.

Hope you guys and gals have a similar report. getting tired reading nothing.

Btw, that little tree in the picture has dump all flowers and lots of fruitlets but still has a huge amount left. It’s a just amazing little guy.

still have a long way to go though still want a pawpaw a jaboticaba some avocados and maybe a small mango tree And the list goes on!

Jan, this Jaboticaba is in its third bloom, first two were aborted, two cold nights in the mid thirties. It will be alright now.

Amy, no idea, a friend from California send a big package of sionwood he got from a rare fruit convention, they were all marked. Since I am new in growing avo,s I just grafted a couple of sticks last spring, 2019. so they are growing in their second year now. I have one more rootstock growing and I ,ll be looking for a Reed variety.

Jan, that’s another combo tree, the main one, lost the tag, a Daisy and a Cara Cara. The last 2 are not doing well, newly grafted.

Jan, what do you mean , “one of these days”, those days are here now!

That’s some fast work bob! Bob you are right!! If not now when!! It’s time to roll up my sleeves and get grafting! :) I have just the rootstock for it too I’m awaiting my grafting knife then it’s go time!

bob how long does it take to root a fig cutting mines been in peat pots for a while now don’t see a root!

Did you in case it in parafilm? Peat is ok, is it a little moist, DE is a better choice. Some use a little rooting gell. Some scrape a very little of. If you see growth, it’s a sign of roots.

I don’t know if you saw my post on grafting knives, the stuff I use for umteen years.

90ºs today. I'd say spring is over.

I have a plastic humidity dome over it bob does that work? I did add some perlite into the peats hope it’s ok? It’s been almost two weeks but so far I have yet to see bud growth on any of them! I believe I saw your picture of all your tools bob but didn’t specify what brand of knife you use? I used a very sharp kitchen knife for all my grafts so far can’t say it’s worked very well but it’ll do for now Until I can get a new one!

Jan, you can buy that Excell knife holder in any hobby shop, one is a light duty one, the other is better built. The cartridges comes in a holder, will last a lifetime. They are super sharp. Cost of the excell holder runs about $4.00. Shick blades about the same price, also readily available. If you can’t find it, I can send it to you for postage.
