Garage Floor quandary

The house we just bought has a questionable garage floor. Likely original from 1967 and heavily pitted from years of winter salt. We had some garage floor people out for putting a coated floor down. From the epoxy to other types. We then realized there is a moisture problem with the floor. Talking the floor people they recommendEd putting down a moisture barrier As part of the process. We had a concrete guy out for an issue with the patio and he said we should replace the garage floor versus a coating. Looking for feedback from anyone with experience and knowledge here. The rip out and replace is more than the coating however we don’t want price to be an influence on doing what’s best.
