please help my alyssum!

I bought two flats of alyssum - one white and one purple. The white is doing pretty well. The purple is a disaster.

It’s planted in a full sun bed, a partial shade bed and containers. We are in zone 5. Some of it is doing okay, but about 50% is at various stages of horrid. No flowers, purple stems, purple leaves with dots and not growing. Pictures attached.

I’ve tried a treatment with miracle gro but no effect. Any ideas what is going on? Can I save it? If I can’t, any other groundcover ideas that I could have more success with?

in z5.. when did you plant them ... have they had time to get the roots sorted out from the stress of transplanting ...

we are just planting our tender annuals here in my MI ... a couple weeks late .. but it was down in the 30s the other night .. and of course.. 90 2 days later .. lol ..

looks like a bit of fert burn ... and if you had a cold event.. that might be a complication ...

i would not fert newly transplanted plants for at least a month ... they are stressed.. not hungry.. and i usually presume the grower hyper fertd them for sale .. so they dont really need much of anything after planting ... all that fast ...

i would just suggest.. you give them a few more weeks ... and dont love them to death in the meantime.. just proper watering ...

ps: just like with children.. you cant compare one to the other.. and come to much of any conclusion ...

I find flea beetles really love alyssum. I haven't grow it in years.
